Meet Maria Garcia
Maria embodies an integrative therapeutic approach underpinned by a strong relational element. She believes that the therapeutic relationship is the first step in facilitating psychological change and growth. Maria has experience working in various settings, with particular expertise in addiction treatment.
Background and Education
Maria trained as a psychologist in Spain and undertook further specialist training in the UK in addictions and eating disorders. She earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology, a postgraduate diploma in integrative counselling, and additional DBT and trauma therapy certifications.
In addition to her clinical work, Maria has over 10 years of experience working in various settings with expertise in addiction treatment, eating disorder treatment, and general acute mental health. Previously, Maria held positions in senior management at various private healthcare organisations.
As the Clinical Director at APN London, Maria is responsible for the leadership, development, and operational management of APN’s clinical services, including psychological therapies, interventional psychiatry, and neurotechnology through Plus by APN.
